Below is gerards art project for this collectors alt press contains cryptic and collaged commentary in cut and paste style. he inbedded a short killjoy au in the art.
about what would happen if I heard Ambient Space Music Galaxy Cosmos 4k out in public
why tumblr will be gone but not really
active tumblrs will be set to private or maybe password only. I am no longer on tumblr but have moved my entire tumblr to here so everything is here now. posts will continue normally and will work to make everything more accessible and easy to view.
I just ran out of fun and magic juice on tumblr and social media. I used to be so busy and had so many ideas and plans. I’ve never put myself out there before and couldn’t believe anyone cared about the stuff I found or did. It was giving me life at one time. The thing is, my love for mcr is plentiful and constantly evolving because I always find something that needs a closer look.
The social aspect of online mcr though is something funny. I didn’t do any social media for like 8 years. I don’t have a facebook or any of that and always made accounts out of obligation bc my family wanted me to have one. unfortunately it’s very important to mcr fans to have other people know how much they love mcr. it’s something worth changing your life over for a lot of people obv myself. mcr has always come up in my life at similar circumstances. it was my power since I was a kid and I know it’s not “cool” or whatever but I have always lent so much of my identity to them. It’s enormous. Sometimes I feel compelled that no one gets how much I love mcr. I think this is common. So I guess that’s what I was trying to prove? I was trying to make an mcr fansite that you could spend time and find a reasonable amount of mcr to experience. what kind of conversations could we have if we all had a resource for seeing/hearing it all. it’s an expression of love to me. it’s stories that should be told. even if it’s a 2005 gif of a skeleton moonwalking.
i’m so sorry but if you tag projekt revolution as 2006 or don’t know all the members names even, i’m not going to judge and shame you and measure you up to see if your worthy of being an mcr fan. this is where I drew the line and said maybe I can set a good example. maybe others will see “ok this person knows a lot about mcr, but they’re not a big asshole about it” and other people would consider idk.. not bullying other mcr fans over what they ship or some irrelevant personal choice
that is entirely irrelevant and unrelated to that person’s ability to be an mcr fan. all you have to do is like one song. everyone should be able to be a fan in whatever insane way they want (within reason and respect to mcr) without droves of mcr fans dying to make them feel unwelcome. as long as they aren’t hating on mcr or mcr fans, I think their list of rules for being an mcr fan ends there. this is how the world outside the gate works.
also it is 1000% free to exchange information with someone neutrally. you don’t even have to be nice just neutral. you can correct someone in a neutral way. even if they post ai and repost people gifs I don’t understand why people have to treat them like a bad person when the reality is. your moral judgments of someone are completely unsolicited and no one asked you in most cases. people act like they’re mad when they really just want someone to take their anger out on. and they attach virtue to that and reward themselves for their ethics.
I know it’s a cliche but think for one second how you would like it if you felt you couldn’t post freely from your own blog without mcr people suddenly pretending they’re an authority figure in your life. but I guess I know why. people live hard lives with hard jobs with hard personal lives. a lot of people out there in their own personal prisons.
and they go online and ruin mcr. and I guess I’m bitter because it’s stopping me from participating in the community because I need a cleanse from society of it all. The reasons for leaving social media in the past have been related to my bipolar and it’s very much the case right now. I feel really intensely about this.
I am so lucky to have found amazing friends who accepted me and can talk to them on discord thank fuck. And I hope tumblr followers and mutual friends who would want to, enjoy my tumblr here instead. it’s already fully integrated and the posts will continue exactly the same. still working that out as you can see. and collapseintonever I will find a way to get in contact with you or email me at [email protected]. all other pressing issues/site [email protected]
for now the site in general is a very wip from where I want it to be but with me leaving tumblr I will be putting all that energy here instead. for this to be my mcr place for other people like myself who maybe aren’t cut out for all that abuse. some of us have mental illness and just want to chill instead of putting each other down. I have big unattainable kanye like dreams for this website so who knows.
the incomparable mind and artist david lynch had passed on. there will never be another like him. his work means so much to me and this is a devastating loss for artists as well as fans like myself. the only art I’ve loved close to the level I feel about mcr is david lynch’s films and twin peaks. I’ve watched all his films multiple times. And I still don’t feel like I truly “get” it and I don’t think that’s even the point. His work is dark and made of dreams and I wish I could live in these strange worlds sometimes.
No one can do what he did. with actors with a camera any medium he came in contact with was changed forever. I’m not exaggerating.
heres moments where frank and gerard have referenced david lynch or his films

11/30/2009 interview with steve baltin of spinner.com
“After going the concept route – or at least making a linear work on ‘The Black Parade’ – My Chemical Romance are going in another direction on their forthcoming album, due early next year. Spinner visited the group in their L.A. studio to get an early preview and we were left suitably blown away by the nine very disparate songs we got to hear. The tracks ranged from the atmospheric ‘Light Before Your Eyes,’ a song frontman Gerard Way describes as Pink Floyd-ish, to the ’80s-flavored ‘Trans Am’ and the punk/dance party tune, ‘Death Before Disco,’ which starts off with a Judas Priest ‘Living After Midnight’ vibe and turns into a lyrical salute to the Stooges, Velvet Underground and MC5.
Way tells Spinner the as-yet-untitled album is a definite answer to ‘The Black Parade.’ “Every single record we make is a response to the last,” he says. “But sometimes it’s not only a response to the last record – it’s a response to the opinion of that record or a response to the world at the time of that record.”
What he sees and documents on the new album is a lot of rockers who are in music for the wrong reason. “There’s a definite undercurrent of fame versus working class, people having stuff handed to them with zero talent versus working class kids that start a band,” he says. “Rock ‘n’ roll is not red carpets and MySpace friends – rock ‘n’ roll is dangerous and rock ‘n’ roll should piss people off. Right now, there’s not a lot of that happening. What it is is a lot of people trying to be famous. That seems to be the goal.”
In Way’s opinion, that desire to be famous is messing up the sanctity of rock “n roll. “It’s bled into rock. It came from other places, but it’s bled into rock ‘n’ roll and kind of tainted it a bit,” Way says. “This record is really a response to that as well.”
MCR certainly have the resources and notoriety to bask in that fame as well, so how do they resist that temptation? “Instead of us panicking and trying to see where we can grab the money or grab the opportunity, we just wrote music instead,” Way says. “We tried to write a great record; that was our response to things. I think that writing a great record will sell records these days, as opposed to doing every other f—ing thing that people seem to be doing to sell a record.”

“THE LIGHTS DIM, AND WITH THE CROWD MILLING AROUND THE energy amongst the young fans in attendance at the Majestic Café in Detroit seemed like a pocket of gas, pent up and ready to erupt. Like a match struck, My Chemical Reaction hit the stage with an explosive presence and the room goes from dormant to devastation. “The crowd’s energy was amazing tonight,” says singer Gerard Way, “The kids climbing up and diving offstage; man that’s why we love Detroit.”
Tearing through a set interwoven with fan favorites, and songs off the impending release on Reprise Records: Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, My Chemical Romance left the stage littered with equipment, and the crowd screaming for more.
Since the release of the debut, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love in the summer of 2002, it has been a relative landslide of hype about the band. Well- deserved hype at that. From starting the fire on the Warped Tour, to tour-ing constantly throughout the United States, My Chemical Romance has established a heightened state of street credibility and a much wider fan base, as well as a growing energy in their songs and stage performance. Described as an explosion of rage and integrity, whether at one of their shows, sweating and screaming right along with singer Gerard Way, or enchanted by the melodies of “Demolition Lovers” screaming from a stereo, all in question have to agree that My Chemical Romance is a prevalent force to be reckoned with in the years ahead.
Recently signing with the major, Reprise Records, My Chemical Romance jumped right back to work after relentless touring that has spanned the United States and much of Europe; in the UK, Germany, Holland, and Spain. As they now come into their own, My Chemical Romance does not plan on taking their music, newfound position, or their fans for granted. Like a snake full of fresh venom, My Chemical Romance curl up to attack, back in the studio recording what is described as, the darkest and hardest music to date by singer Gerard Way. After such intense songs as “Headfirst for Halos” and “Cubicles” it will be an anxious wait to see what this fresh young band will crank out next.
“We went for a grainy, dirty sound, trying to capture the intensity of our live performance on the album,” stated guitarist Frank lero. “We were a bit apprehensive, waiting to see how the label treated us in the studio. But it worked out great, Reprise gave us creative license to create the sort of record we wanted, this is definitely the record we set out to make.” After a debut record that made such an impact, receiving acclaim from Keith Morris of Black Flag, and the Circle Jerks fame, it will be quite a thing to see how the band has approached their sophomore effort. “Keith Morris is one of my musical idols,” lero admits with enthusiasm, “He contacted the band, and expressed how much of a fan he was of what we were doing. He is actually on Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. That is one of my greatest experiences so far, writing a piece of music for one of my heroes to perform on our new record.”
My Chemical Romance is like a chemical reaction leaving all things in their wake changed forever. These guys come right off a freight train of rock and roll fury; first stop, right in your face. Raw talent, dark lyrics, and heavy angst cover the debut I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. Layered musical tent coupled with a fierce sense of annihilation unleash an addiction for My Chemical Romance that is manifested in their solid, loyal fan base. Such a diverse sound was cultivated from the individuals in the bands different tastes.
“We are all different guys, musically,” says lero. With tastes from Brit-Pop, to classically trained guitarists, and hardcore punk rock enthusiasts, My Chemical Romance is a melting pot of beautifully chaotic sounds. “Heading back into the studio, we were anticipating it to be more difficult, so having a lot of ideas already prepared helped in the process.” lero comments on the recording process, “As a band we wanted to capture the live aspects of our shows, because we didn’t feel that the first record did our live performance the justice it deserves.” While exuberant in the youth of My Chemical Romance, this band has paid their dues, and it is like.breaths of fresh air to have such an original band make such an impact in so short a time. Hailing from the turbulent streets of urban New Jersey, the tale of My Chemical Romance chases these five young men back to the days of high school. As acquaintances in younger con-years, the members of My Chemical Romance were tried and true members of the local music scene. It was in their own individual bands that they began a fledgling approach to the world of an indie-rock movement. As time goes, so did the bands, and they all head off in separate directions, seeking separate paths. Keeping in touch over the years, it became apparent that each man’s path wasn’t leading to the places they had imagined. Singer Gerard Way was living in his mom’s basement, making transit to New York City doing animation, when he called up drummer Matt Pelissier, and found they were both in precarious limbos. Not sure where they were headed, the two got together to play some music. After rounding out the roster with Ray Toro and guitar and Mikey Way on bass, the seething seed of My Chemical Romance was born. lero recalls the early days, “After they had all gotten together, Gerard, Ray, Matt and Mikey, I was a huge fan of the music they were making. After the band I was in at the time split up, they decided to get another guitarist, and asked me to join.” The story behind the band is as captivating as the music they create. “This new record is really gonna blow up, it is just as true to what was done with ‘Bullets’ but more energetic and over the top. I can’t wait for the fans to get their hands on the new record. We are set up to tour so much in the next year; I forget what my house looks like already.”
With the release of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge slated for June, the growing fever of the band’s energy criss-crosses the nation with Avenged Sevenfold on a tour that kicks off in Detroit April 3rd, also look forward to them on this summer’s Warped Tour www.warped-tour.com. With all that lay ahead of them, it is impossible to see just how far My Chem’s signature sound can go. You can check them out online at www.mychemicalromance.com, or wait and find My Chemical Romance in your town, tearing a relative black hole for the masses to peer into throughout the country. In the opinion of this writer, the harder they rock, the darker the better.“
